I really recognize many points and facts regarding Serbia since I was also born in 1989 and grew up in Bosnia. Regarding words and terminology, the demonstrating students are not depoliticsed by departypoliticised since they are doing politics by bottom-up initiatives and self-organising reminding of Gandi and civil rights movement
Dear Vladan, thank you for the comment. I should have been clearer. PS I am not sure about Gandi, etc. This kind of organization among students (plenums etc.) existed in continuity for quite some time; it's just that the participation exploded.
Tarik, I appreciate you sharing your experiences and thoughts. I understand your point. You are definitely correct in saying that there is no plan for what to do after these protests. But they have already succeeded in a way. The government will be forced to take much greater care in dealing with corruption, and I believe that every single individual coming with an envelope to some administrative building will have to think twice before continuing with his plans. Regarding your comments about students and their existence outside reality, that's a fair point, but also, let us not be too harsh on them. The path from regular student life to a proper wide-spread movement happened overnight; some naïveté goes hand-in-hand with this. I think we should judge them mostly based on what they stand for - rule of law and transparency of public institutions.
